CHICHEN ITZA – CENOTE – EK BALAM
After crossing several typical Mayan villages we will visit Chichen Itzá, an ancient Mayan city, which in 2007 was named by the UNESCO as one of the 7 wonders of the world.
Over there, an archaeological guide will show us the surprising construction and acoustic techniques that the Maya civilization used and we will have the possibility to get to know the different rituals that this civilization practiced at the biggest ceremonial center at the Yucatan Peninsula.
Before tasting a delicious and traditional Mexican food, we will take a bath in a cenote with an special charm due to its beautiful roots and water leaks.
On the way back we will have time to visit the Mayan ruins of Ek Balam. These archaeological site built 2,000 years ago are well preserved and feature with 17 restored buildings, between them the typical ball game (Pok ta Pok), an astronomical observatory and its acropolis, the most voluminous building of the Yucatan Peninsula with 168 meters wide and 106 steps, where we can go up and enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramics.
